Academy Bank Hires Two New Commercial Loan Bankers To Service Colorado Springs Market | New

Luc Smith and Luis Rosales join Academy Bank, both as Vice Presidents of Commercial Banking Services, and are responsible for developing and maintaining profitable commercial banking relationships, which includes lending, collecting deposits and facilitating relationships between departments .

Luc Smith, who has 17 years of banking experience, was most recently Vice President of Commercial Lending at State Bank at Falcon, Colorado, where he was responsible for growing the commercial and consumer loan portfolios, as well as supporting the bank’s overall growth initiatives. Prior to that, Smith held positions in commercial loan underwriting, loan origination, financial advisory, and retail and personal banking with NorthStar Bank of Colorado, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of Colorado. Smith received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colorado State University and graduated from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking, held at University of Colorado. Luke is also a member of Rotary and is currently a member of the board of directors of Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb.

Luis Rosales, with 20 years of banking experience, was most recently a Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer for Security Service Federal Credit Union in Denver, Colorado, where he was responsible for the management and growth of client portfolios, as well as the creation and monitoring of complex commercial real estate credit facilities. Previously, he was Vice President of Corporate Lending for BBVA Compass in Birmingham, Alabama. Rosales studied economics at the University of Texas at San Antonio, obtained his Six Sigma green belt from the Aveta Business Institute and is certified Moody’s Risk Analyst for Underwriting. Rosales is also fluent in Spanish and is currently working towards her CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation.

Smith and Rosales will have their offices at the Briargate branch, located at 2835 Briargate Blvd., and will serve as business banking contacts for all. Colorado Sources and the Fontaine branches.
