College football playoff contender falls

Occasionally, college football gives us a break from the madness. Week 12 hasn’t been as crazy as the past few weeks, but we still saw a playoff contender get knocked out. This changes our college football bowl projections and also affects college football playoff support.

How does the bowl throws shake up after another week of college football? Which teams do we plan to play bowls this season?

If you like to run soccer, there are a number of games for you. Michigan and Kentucky go head to head, which means we can watch Kenneth walker iii and Christopher Rodriguez fought a duel. Wisconsin and Arkansas might see who can throw the fewest passes, but it will be a battle in the trenches.

Underrated games include a UTSA team that survived another thrilling week against an SMU team that finds themselves in shock. Holton Ahlers (ECU) and Bailey Zappe (Western Kentucky) are able to throw over 400 yards each, which could lead to an exciting contest.

Analyze New Year’s Bowl Projections

We saw the biggest change in our college football bowl projections during New Years bowl games. Oregon’s loss to Utah stings, but that doesn’t completely eliminate them from that group.

Georgia and Cincinnati remain on track for a Peach Bowl rematch last year. Ohio State and Alabama face off in a familiar clash, with the Buckeyes playing the lights lately. Bryce Young and CJ Stroud cast it, but the real battle everyone wants to watch is Jameson Williams and Jean Metchie III against the Ohio State trio Chris Olave, Garrett wilson, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Ole Miss learned QB Matt Corral will declare for the 2022 NFL Draft, so his bowl status appears to be in jeopardy against Oklahoma State. Confidence in Utah has risen this weekend and they will face a Michigan team set to win a Rose Bowl for the first time since 1997.

Notre Dame plays as well as anyone, and missing the playoffs always means they land a Fiesta Bowl game against Pitt. Kenny pickett can throw it, and the Fighting Irish should find a way to slow Jordan Addison down as well. Oregon’s consolation prize for losing this weekend is a clash against Oklahoma, and a win for either program could give the 2022 campaign a boost.
