Florida falls, Auburn stalls, Tide survives

Week 10 in SEC football brought some clarity on how the league stacks up and created some separation as Texas A&M hit Auburn, Alabama outlasted LSU and Florida… well, it’s hard to say what happened with the Gators, but it definitely had an impact in the SEC Power rankings.

Here is the ranking for week 11:

No.1 Georgia (9-0, 7-0)

Last week: 1

This week: in Tennessee

What there is to know: Missouri led by a field goal for almost a quarter. That’s about the most encouragement the Dawgs have allowed the rest of the league.

# 2 Texas A&M (7-2, 4-2)

Last week: 4

This week: at Ole Miss

What there is to know: Do you know the A&M team that everyone was talking about before the season? Alabama and Auburn found it.

Alabama # 3 (8-1, 5-1)

Last week: 2

This week: against the State of New Mexico

What there is to know: Alabama had gotten used to CBS’s 7 p.m. debut against LSU, so it would be understandable to show up an hour late this year. But the Crimson Tide barely appeared.

Miss Ole n ° 4 (7-2, 3-2)

Last week: 5

This week: vs. Texas A&M

What there is to know: Give Lane Liberty or give her a big raise, Ole Miss, so you can get her away from LSU … and maybe Florida.

Tennessee No.5 (5-4, 3-3)

Last week: 8

This week: against Georgia

What there is to know: Tennessee will be throwing passes – lots of passes – to Georgia instead of garbage. Take advantage of Kentucky’s victory this week before reality sets in, Vols.

# 6 Arkansas (6-3, 2-3)

Last week: ten

This week: at LSU

What there is to know: Welcome to the Hogs who beat Texas and A&M. And just when we were ready to start the barbecue.

No. 9 LSU (4-5, 2-4)

Last week: 9

This week: against Arkansas

What there is to know: How come the Tigers are playing better and harder with lame duck Ed Orgeron on the sidelines than before he was fired? Whatever the reason, this is a great selling point for the next coach.

No. 10 South Carolina (5-4, 2-4)

Last week: 13

This week: in missouri

What there is to know: The Gamecocks are taking revenge on Florida for everything Will Muschamp has done to make them a viable candidate for the head coach. All aboard the Shane train.

# 11 Mississippi State (5-4, 3-3)

Last week: 6

This week: in Auburn

What there is to know: Mike Leach may want to reconsider his stance on sweet corn if the Arkansas game is any indication of what is happening in the first game after Halloween.

No. 12 Florida (4-5,2-5)

Last week: 11

This week: against Samford

# 13 Missouri (4-5, 1-4)

Last week: 12

This week: vs. South Carolina

What there is to know: Believe it or not, bowl eligibility isn’t out of reach with South Carolina and Florida leading the Tigers’ schedule.

# 14 Vanderbilt (2-7, 0-5)

Last week: 14

This week: against Kentucky

What there is to know: The Commodores did not give up a point. They didn’t score either. Heck, they didn’t even play. Let’s call it a victory.
