Moundville police investigate fatal shooting on Friday

MOUNDVILLE, AL – One person was killed in a shooting on County Line Road in Moundville on Friday afternoon, Moundville police confirmed to local media.

Moundville Police Chief Toby Banks said officers responded to a fire call at around 2:50 p.m. on County Line Road, where officers found a 47-year-old man who had been shot.

Banks said the victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

In the aftermath of the shooting, police arrested Dillon Duncan, 25, charging him with murder. He was transported to Hale County Jail, where his bail was set at $ 500,000.

Banks said Duncan was linked to the victim, before saying the shooting was likely the result of a family dispute.

The identity of the victim has not been made public at this time.
