Billy Joe Cobb

Billy Joe Cobb, 77, a resident of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Troy, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, at Hospice in West Alabama. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Dillard’s Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Reverend Tony Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Banks, AL under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy. Visits will take place on Saturday February 5, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

He is survived by his sons: Robert Cobb (Amber), Greg “Bo” Cobb (Hollie); grandchildren: Shaun Cobb (Hannah), Shanna Powers (Sean), Trinity Prescott, Gean Prescott, Shyanne Hester, Emily Banks (Timmy), Erica Guedelha (Mateus), Alex Baines; great-grandchildren: Beaux, Paisley, Kenzi, Reagan, Parker, Bentley, Tucker; siblings: Jerry Cobb (Elaine), Leo Cobb (Ginger), Mary Jo Dansby (Donald Lee); and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He is predeceased by his wife of over 50 years: Dorothy Lou “Dot” Cobb; parents: Lonzo Lee and Maybell Johnson Cobb; siblings: Mary, Leroy, Pete, Pauline, Alice, Josephine and Irene.

Mr. Cobb retired from the Troy Fire Department as a Lieutenant after 25 years of service.

Pallbearers will be retired members of the Troy Fire Department. Honorary bearers will be members of the Troy Fire Department.

Dovie Louise Newton Cutchen

Mrs. Dovie Louise Newton Cutchen of Troy, Alabama died on Saturday February 5, 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama at the age of 86. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church of Troy.

Dovie Cutcheon

Ms. Cutchen was born October 10, 1935 in the community of Kinsey, Houston County to the late Lucille and Daniel Newton and graduated from Dothan High School in 1953. She married her lover, the late L. Milton Cutchen, serving with him while he pastored and preached in churches in southern Alabama and Mississippi, until his death in 2006, having recently served at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy and to other churches in the pike. County region. She attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and earned her Bachelor of Music degree at Auburn University and continued her studies toward a Master of Music degree at Montevallo University.

Mrs. Cutchen was a church organist and pianist in many churches and places of service. She has taught music – including piano, organ and voice – to thousands of students over the years, both privately and more recently until her retirement as an adjunct professor at the University of Troy. She cherished the relationships with her thousands of students, having a listening ear and giving an encouraging word. She enjoyed music and ballroom dancing with her husband, was an affectionate member of the Troy Music Study Club.

Ms Cutchen recently lived with her son, David Newton Cutchen and his wife, Judy Cutchen, in the Birmingham area.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel Cutchen (Joy) Dallas, TX and David Newton Cutchen (Judy), Vestavia Hills, AL; grandsons Stephen Cutchen (Ashley) and Matthew Cutchen (Anna) Dallas, TX; granddaughter Abigail Cutchen Brock (Bradley) Chelsea, AL; and great-grandchildren Levi Newton Brock, Emberly Cutchen and Josiah Cutchen.

Harold Maulden

Mr Harold Maulden, 69, died on Monday, January 31, 2022, after battling several illnesses. He was born on July 20, 1952 in Dale County, Alabama to Thomas Harold Maulden and Edna Ruth Hughes.

Mr. Maulden was a resident of Millbrook, Alabama. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. Harold grew up on the beaches of North Florida and loved the water, fishing, caring for his dogs, and spending time with family and friends. He worked in sales for many years, then retired from Alfa Insurance in Montgomery, Alabama, where he worked in maintenance.

Mr. Maulden is predeceased by his father and mother. Mr. Maulden is survived by his brother Bruce Maulden, his sister Debbie White, his son Ryan Maulden, his daughters Danielle Maulden and KD Maulden and several grandchildren, Aly Salinas, Kylee Dean-Holt and Jace Maulden as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A one hour visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at Dillard’s Funeral Home: 6459 US Highway 231, Brundidge, Alabama 36010. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel Dillard to Brundidge. Harold will be buried in Shady Grove Cemetery in Brundidge, Alabama.
