Rachel Corbelli joins Auburn’s volleyball coaching staff

AUBURN, AlabamaWith a coaching background that includes time with one of the top clubs in the country combined with extensive experience as a communications manager, Rachel Corbelli joins Auburn volleyball as an assistant coach/recruitment coordinator. The head coach Brent Crouch announced the hiring of Corbelli on Thursday.

Since 2014, Corbelli has coached at Austin Juniors, one of the top club volleyball programs in the United States. In addition to her head coaching duties, Corbelli became the organization’s full-time communications manager in 2016, handling aspects of social media, marketing and branding. She is also the club’s assistant recruiting director.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Rachel to our volleyball team here at Auburn,” Crouch said. “Rachel was first in my search from the start because of her deep love and knowledge of the game, her concern for her players and her experience in communications, social media and marketing. recruiting and communications manager for one of the top clubs in the country, Austin Juniors, Rachel is set to take on the role of recruiting coordinator for our program. While at Austin Juniors, Corbelli led his teams to numerous top-10 finishes in national tournaments, most recently finishing second in the Pacific Northwest Qualifier in 2021. In 2015, Corbelli received an honorable mention for coach of the year of the AJV.

Corbelli is also head varsity coach and program director at Austin’s Regents School. Having previously served as a program assistant, Austin’s Regents School has competed in the TAPPS State Playoffs in all five seasons. Corbelli worked with the program while three athletes won all-state honors.

Her coaching efforts have earned her national recognition as she was selected as the winner of the 2021 AVCA 30 Under 30 award, which highlights the best coaches under 30 in the country.

Corbelli’s volleyball roots run deep in his family. His parents, John and Laurie Corbelli, respectively won silver medals as coaches and athletes at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. The pair coached together at Texas A&M for 24 seasons. His brother, Russell, is currently an assistant volleyball coach at Missouri.

Corbelli earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Texas at San Antonio before earning a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
