The Texas Longhorns continue their recruitment drive for OL and rank in the top 4 of the elite OL Earnest Green

Looking for some big help on the offensive front, the Texas Longhorns have hit the recruiting trail hard for a few key prospects across the line.

And that hard work paid off, with St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA) interior offensive lineman Earnest Greene naming the Longhorns among his top 10. Greene also had Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State. on its list of finalists.

Greene, who ranks as Sports Illustrated’s No.9 indoor offensive lineman, is the latest elite offensive lineman to add the Longhorns to his list of finalists, along with the Atascocita forward (Humble, TX ) Kam Dewberry (Texas, A&M and OU), and Todd Beamer (Federal Way, WA) take on Malik Agbo (Texas, OU, Miami and Auburn).

Oddly enough, Texas QB commit Maalik Murphy specifically referred to these three offensive linemen, as well as forward / guard Bowie (Arlington, TX) Devon Campbell, to in a recent interview, and that he focused his efforts on recruiting them. To. the 40 acres.

“Lots of linemen. So to name a few, Malik Agbo, Kam Dewberry, DJ Campbell, Earnest Greene, those four guys that I have, I’ve been investing pretty much all of my time in the last few weeks, “said Murphy.” Just because it’s a little difficult for me right now to recruit like I was in the offseason. Just because of the fact that you know I have to focus on my team and focus on my season. And you don’t know, lose your focus on my main goal in high school. So, I am still recruiting. And these are a few guys that, you know, I spent my time. “

Oddly enough, the Longhorns, along with Texas A&M, would also have made a late push for the current Oregon entry, and Summer Creek (Humble, TX)-ranked offensive tackle No. 2 Kelvin Banks would have the second. square. thoughts about leaving the state of texas.

You can view SI-All American’s full screening report for Greene below:

Vitals: 6’5 “, 335 pounds
School: Bellflower (California) St. John Bosco
Recruitment: Considering the State of Ohio, Texas, Arizona, others

Greene is a huge body playing against the best competition in the country and clearing it up anyway. His speed of action, punch and extension stuns defenders and he works with better leverage than a 6’5 “frame would suggest. As he matures and reshapes his body for college play, he improves his strengths and downplays some of what we do. Don’t see on the tape, Greene may be a prospect we wish we had higher on board, but we’ll be watching him for more. near this fall as California returns to a full fall schedule.
