What is the next step for Cam Newton in AF after vaccination?

Auburn football legend Cam Newton is doing all he can to make sure his NFL career doesn’t end with the former NFL MVP and Heisman winner losing the post of New England Patriots QB benefiting Mac freaking Jones.

Newton took the COVID-19 vaccine and is now a serious option for many teams who may not have considered it otherwise.

So what’s next for Newton in free agency now that his seemingly biggest hurdle has now been cleared?

Auburn football legend Cam Newton looks likely to join the Seattle Seahawks

The Tigers’ QB – who single-handedly lifted the 2010 Auburn football schedule to unparalleled heights in its history as a Heisman winner leading them to an undefeated national championship-winning season – should have several options, but the Seattle Seahawks probably appear to be his next destination.

One team seemingly in denial of their own situation is the Washington football team, who don’t want to consider Newton even with Taylor Heinicke as a starter:

Maybe sentimental value wins out here after Heinicke nearly upset eventual Super Bowl champion LV Tampa Bay Buccaneers. WFT could also wait for Ryan Fitzpatrick to return and don’t want a strong personality like Newton to come in and take the job. Bill Belichick cut Newton off due to the attention he attracts as a polarizing personality.

Either way, they got out. So are the Miami Dolphins, who appear determined to strike a deal with the Houston Texans for Deshaun Watson.

The Seahawks are clearly in contention, as head coach Pete Carroll revealed on ESPN radio 710 in Seattle:

Newton is a mobile QB as is Russell Wilson, who could be out until Week 10. FanSided’s Aryanna Prasad pointed out that the way they get their offense is different, however, with Newton reclaiming his rushing yards from racing games designed and Wilson acquiring his own from scrambling over interrupted passing games.

Yet Geno Smith is no reason to stick with the status quo. Sign Cam Newton, Seattle Seahawks… you’ll be better off.
